Michael DeAngelo has a long career in state government, having previously served as CIO for the Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Health Care Authority before becoming the Deputy CIO for the State of Washington.
Michael is a strong proponent of using Agile to deliver Lean Government and using cloud/SaaS technology to enable cross-organizational collaboration; in fact, he is a leading authority on Holacracy in the Public Sector .
The Office of the CIO started off developing a shared vision of how cloud computing and Agile could help transform traditional IT departments in state government:
Now they work off a Dashboard that links to multiple other boards, some organized as Kanban Boards and some as Scrum Boards.
Michael's passion for Kanban and Agile extends to his extracurricular activities as well: he is probably the only person we know who is organizing his beekeeping hobby using a Kerika Kanban Board!
