Kerika is a privately-held company, founded in 2002 by Arun Kumar, with headquarters in Issaquah, Washington.
Our original product was a shared virtual whiteboard, implemented as a peer-to-peer, desktop Java application. (This capability, which we patented, is now available as the Whiteboard feature in Kerika.)
In 2010, we rebuilt Kerika as a Web application, so that we could leverage modern browser technologies as well as the Amazon Web Services and Google Apps platforms, and in 2012, we built the world's first work management system designed specially for distributed Lean and Agile teams.
We are a distributed team of designers and developers, located in Seattle and India. And, yes, we succeed as a distributed team because we use Kerika!
We eat our own dogfood: every single aspect of our company's business is done using Kerika task boards — using daily builds of our software on our test network so we can experience, before anyone else, the quality and usability of what we build.
Jeff Barr made this video about Kerika and Arun Kumar; it tells our story better than we ever could...
